Aaron Dettling

Aaron was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, but he grew up in the southwestern Alabama town of Atmore. For more than 25 years, Aaron has had the privilege of practicing law in Alabama, starting with a federal clerkship in Mobile, as a partner of a major southeastern law firm, as a solo practitioner, and now as a member of Fortif Law Partners.

Over the years, Aaron has handled a wide array of complex litigation in trial and appellate courts. Today, Aaron focuses his practice on administrative law, government relations, and ethics. Aaron serves as outside general counsel to various state regulatory boards and serves others as an administrative law judge. As a seasoned litigator, Aaron excels at helping clients position themselves to avoid—but, if necessary, win—legal disputes.

“The attorney-client relationship is at the heart of all we do. I enjoy being able to stand back and be proud of the work that we’ve delivered, the problems that we’ve solved, and the fact that we’ve brought real value to the table. There’s nothing more satisfying in professional life than that.”
