Bing Edwards

Bing was born in Birmingham, but he grew up in Decatur, Alabama. Although his father and sister are also lawyers, they have found other ways to keep themselves busy. After law school, Bing clerked for the same federal judge for whom his father had clerked. After earning a degree in tax law in New York, Bing settled at a Birmingham law firm, where he practiced for 18 years.

In 2017, Bing started the firm that is now Fortif Law Partners. Fortif has become a law firm with a sophisticated base of clients. The firm offers its clients a high level of service in a collaborative environment where people help each other be their best.

Since starting Fortif, Bing has branched out to do a variety of deals. He regularly helps clients with corporate transactions, community and economic development, real estate deals, and startup funding. Occasionally, Bing will work on public policy-related matters and strategic planning projects as well.

Bing likes to think that the work he does makes the communities he touches a little bit better. It makes every day exciting.

“I love the people I get to work with – lawyers, staff, and clients.”
